At Oakridge Academics, we believe that academic success is built on more than just repetition. It’s built on how the brain learns. I am Dr Kalli Reynolds, founder of Oakridge Academics, and I bring a BSc (Hons), MSc, and PhD in Psychology alongside years of frontline educational experience to the forefront of specialist tutoring.
Oakridge Academics specialises in a 'whole-brain' approach that traditional agencies simply cannot offer. I bridge the gap between psychological science and pedagogical practice, allowing me to dismantle the barriers, whether cognitive, emotional, or academic, that hold students back.
From nurturing the foundational curiosity of Early Years and Primary learners to providing elite mentorship for University and Postgraduate Psychology students, I provide a seamless, evidence-based pathway to excellence. I don't just teach the syllabus; I master the mind behind the student, fostering the cognitive resilience and executive functioning skills necessary for a lifetime of achievement.

I remember one specific afternoon, looking at a student who was clearly frustrated by a concept they hadn't mastered, while the rest of the class was forced to move on to the next chapter. In that moment, I knew I couldnt stay. I didn't want to just manage a classroom or lecture hall; I wanted to transform the trajectory of the individual

In that moment, I knew I couldnt stay. I didn't want to just manage a classroom or lecture hall; I wanted to transform the trajectory of the individual. Using my experience as a teacher and my background in educational leadership, I decided to create a path that focused on the learner rather than the clock.

I founded Oakridge Academics because I believe education should be a personal journey, not a factory line. I wanted to create a space where

Confidence is the primary goal. A student who believes they can learn is unstoppable. We build the mindset first, and the grades naturally follow.
Partnership is everything. I am not just a tutor; I am an advocate for every individual I work with. I use my years of specialised experience in academia and coaching to ensure every learner is getting a strategy tailored specifically to them.

I am here to help students find their spark again. You aren't just getting a supplementary lesson plan. You are getting an educator who finally has the freedom to see the student for who they truly are. I started this because I wanted to get back to the heart of teaching: that lightbulb moment where the student realises they are far more

I am here to help every unique learner find their spark again. Let's get to work!

I am a university lecturer, chartered psychologist, and qualified teacher, but at the heart of my work, I am an academic specialist dedicated to helping learners thrive. My journey in education has taken me from the energy of early childhood classrooms to the complex world of postgraduate research. Throughout that journey, my focus has remained the same: providing the expert, individual support that the traditional system often overlooks.
My academic foundation is built on a deep understanding of how the human mind develops and learns. I hold a BSc in Counselling Psychology, an MSc in Applied Developmental Psychology, and a PhD in Psychology. As a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, I have spent years committed to excellence in teaching and academic practice. While I am a published researcher in high impact journals and have delivered award winning presentations, my true passion lies in translating that high level research into practical success for my students.
Alongside my doctoral level expertise, I am a qualified primary teacher with both Qualified Teacher Status and Early Years Professional Status. I have consistently received outstanding feedback for my teaching because I believe in more than just delivering information. I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Performance Coaching, which allows me to blend evidence based coaching techniques with psychological insights. This ensures that whether I am helping a young child find their confidence in the classroom or supporting a university student with complex psychology concepts and academic writing, my approach is always calm, structured, and led by science.
I founded Oakridge Academics to offer a supportive and expert alternative to generic tutoring. I wanted to create a practice that recognises the individual behind the learner and offers guidance that is academically rigorous, developmentally appropriate, and focused on long term success. Whether you are building foundations or finishing a thesis, I am here to ensure you have the tools, the strategy, and the confidence to reach your full potential.
